Rippling reviews: G2 and Trustpilot ratings, September 2026
Rippling's review aggregates are strong on both platforms checked 28 September 2026: 4.8 out of 5 from 13,469 G2 reviews and 4.5 out of 5 from 2,469 Trustpilot reviews. They mostly record invited end users praising ease of use.

Rippling rates 4.8 out of 5 on G2 from 13,469 reviews1 and 4.5 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 2,469 reviews2, checked 28 September 2026. Both ratings are high. Both platforms also show that Rippling invites reviews, and much of the praise comes from employees who use it to clock in, check pay and request leave. The buyer’s side is thinner: Rippling publishes no list price and quotes each product on top of a required core platform3. This is an evidence review of Rippling’s published pages and those dated aggregates. No first-hand use is claimed.
TL;DR
- The ratings are strong and consistent. On G2, 12,210 of 13,469 reviews are five stars (90.7%) and 243 are three stars or lower (1.8%)1. Trustpilot shows 88% five-star and 5% one-star reviews2.
- They mostly measure the employee experience. G2 tags 7,391 reviewers as users and 1,521 as administrators1. Ease of use dominates the praise on both sites.
- The complaints cluster on setup, support and add-on cost. Trustpilot’s summary names complicated initial configuration, unresponsive support, changing account managers and unexpected payroll errors2.
- Rippling prices by custom quote. Most products bill per employee per month and some carry a monthly base fee3. Every product sits on the required Rippling Platform3.
- The decision changes on your quote and your country. G2 holds 57 reviews tagged ANZ against 10,690 tagged North America1. The aggregates cannot tell a buyer outside the US how payroll and compliance will run for them.
How were these figures checked?
We captured five public pages on 28 September 2026 and took every figure from those captures: Rippling’s G2 review page1, its Trustpilot profile2, Rippling’s pricing page3, Rippling’s home page4 and its Glassdoor employer page5. Rippling’s Capterra listing was also requested. It returned a “Page not found” notice, so no Capterra rating is used.
G2 shows its star bars as whole percentages. Beneath them the page lists five counts: 12,210, 1,016, 117, 26 and 1001. Those counts sum to 13,469, the page’s own review total, so we read them as the five-star to one-star counts and computed each share from them. Every percentage marked as computed below comes from that arithmetic. The wider research standard is set out in how Glamdring checks figures.
Every rating below is reported by reviewers and aggregated by the platform that hosts it.
What do G2 and Trustpilot show for Rippling?
They show a highly rated product with a large review base on both sites, and a sharper negative tail on Trustpilot than on G2.
| Source, checked 28 Sep 2026 | Who rates | Rating | Reviews | Five-star share | One-star share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| G21 | Software users | 4.8 / 5 | 13,469 | 90.7% (computed) | 0.7% (computed) |
| Trustpilot2 | Customers and users | 4.5 / 5 (TrustScore) | 2,469 | 88% | 5% |
| Glassdoor5 | Rippling’s own employees | 3.7 / 5 | 1,276 | Not shown | Not shown |
G2’s remaining counts are 1,016 four-star, 117 three-star and 26 two-star reviews1. The page displays the lower three bars as 0%, which is consistent with rounding down. The counts still add up to 243 reviews at three stars or below.
Trustpilot’s split is 88% five-star, 5% four-star, 1% three-star, under 1% two-star and 5% one-star2. That profile is bimodal: Trustpilot’s negative reviews sit almost entirely at one star. Trustpilot also records 871 reviews in the last 12 months2, about 35% of the total (computed).
Glassdoor sits in the table for one reason: searchers for “Rippling reviews” meet it on the results page. It rates Rippling as an employer. Its 3.7 says nothing about the software.
Who writes the reviews behind the ratings?
Mostly employees at Rippling’s customers, and often at Rippling’s invitation. The ratings therefore describe the employee’s day-to-day app more than the administrator’s system.
G2’s filters tag 7,391 reviewers as users, 1,521 as administrators and 74 as executive sponsors1. By company size, 7,323 come from mid-market firms of 51 to 1,000 staff, 3,802 from small businesses and 611 from enterprises of more than 1,0001. By region, 10,690 are tagged North America, 374 Europe and 57 ANZ1.
G2 labels each review’s origin. Reviews on the captured page carry labels such as “Organic”, “Seller invite”, “G2 invite on behalf of seller” and “Incentivized”1. One review there is marked “Business partner of the seller or seller’s competitor, not included in G2 scores”1, so G2 does exclude some reviews from its average. The page does not give the share of invited or incentivised reviews in the 13,469.
Trustpilot shows the same pattern from the other side. Rippling claimed its profile in June 2021, holds a paid Trustpilot subscription and “invites their customers to review, whether positive or negative”2. Trustpilot states that it doesn’t fact-check reviews and applies the “Verified” label “when we can confirm a business interaction took place”2. One verified five-star review that Trustpilot shows under “Reviews shaping this summary” praises “The Portal Lounge” and its food2. It says nothing about Rippling’s software.
A rating built mainly by employees checking pay and hours tells a buyer that the self-service app is easy to use. It tells them far less about the administrator’s job: implementation, payroll corrections, compliance filings and support when something breaks.
What do reviewers praise and criticise?
They praise ease of use by a wide margin. Criticism is smaller in volume and concentrates on missing features, setup complexity, support and cost as modules accumulate.
G2’s pros-and-cons tags, generated from user reviews, put “Ease of Use” at 6,968 mentions, “Intuitive” at 5,171 and “Simple” at 4,5651. The largest negative tags are “Missing Features” at 1,241, “Not User-Friendly” at 886 and “Learning Curve” at 8581. G2’s AI-generated summary adds that “the mobile app could benefit from improvements in functionality”1.
Trustpilot’s AI summary, drawn from 861 recent reviews, reaches the same split. Reviewers praise the design for making “time tracking, onboarding, and payroll management remarkably simple”2. It also records that “initial configuration and onboarding setup can occasionally feel overly complicated”, plus “unresponsive support teams, changing account managers, and specific unexpected payroll processing errors”2. Trustpilot’s topic panel describes feedback on service and staff as “ambiguous”2.
Individual reviews show where the edges are. An organic 1/5 G2 review from an India-based HR reviewer reported compliance errors on a first payroll run and mandatory partner requirements1. Rippling’s public reply said it “does offer India-specific payroll and onboarding flows”1. Both are claims; neither page settles the dispute. A five-star review from a finance executive still warned that “many features are sold as add-on modules, you have to be very intentional about your package”1.
What does Rippling sell?
Rippling sells HR, payroll, IT and finance products that share one employee record, plus a global employment line. Its home page describes “global HR, Payroll, IT, and Finance in one place” and says “Every product is built on a unified platform”4.
The product menu on Rippling’s pricing page lists these groups3:
| Group | Products listed |
|---|---|
| Platform | Workflow Studio, Analytics, Policies, Permissions, Integrations, App Studio |
| HCM | HRIS, HR Services, Recruiting, Headcount Planning, Performance, Surveys, Learning Management, Benefits Administration, PEO, Time & Attendance, Scheduling, Chat |
| IT | Identity & Access, Device Management, Inventory Management |
| Payroll | Payroll, Contractors, Global Payroll, Employer of Record, Contractor of Record, Global Contractors |
| Finance | Expense Management, Corporate Cards, Bill Pay, Travel |
| Global | Global HRIS, Global HR Advisor, Global Benefits, Global Finance, plus the Payroll group’s global products |
The home page also promotes AI features, custom applications and an AI Spend Console4. G2 lists 185 integrations for Rippling1.
Breadth is Rippling’s own argument for the product, and it makes the headline rating hard to apply. A 4.8 on G2 is one rating across every module, and the page’s category filters show payroll at 9,037 reviews against 657 for applicant tracking1. A buyer choosing Rippling for recruiting or device management is reading a rating built mostly from other modules.
How is Rippling priced?
By custom quote. Rippling’s pricing page publishes no prices and asks visitors to “Tell us what services you need, and we’ll send you a custom quote”3.
The page sets out three pricing rules:
- Each HR, Finance and IT product “can be purchased separately”, “alongside the core, required Rippling Platform”3.
- Most products “are billed on a simple per-employee, per-month basis”, while “some may be charged at (or include) a monthly basis fee”3.
- Rippling offers partner pricing for brokers and accountants3.
The quote form asks for headcount in bands from 1–10 to 1,001+ employees and contractors3. The governing unit is the employee-month per product, plus the platform and any base fees. The total therefore climbs with both headcount and module count, which matches the add-on warning in the reviews.
G2 adds reviewer-reported averages: one month to implement, seven months to return on investment and a 12% average discount1. Its estimated annual price was masked on the captured page and rests on 13 purchases1. Rippling’s pricing page also cites a Forrester Total Economic Impact report that it says found a 42% lift in HR, payroll and finance efficiency3. The captured page gives that headline figure without its assumptions.
Confirm the numbers in the current quote. Ask for the per-employee monthly rate for each module, the platform charge, any monthly base fee and the discount applied.
What the ratings cannot tell you
They cannot tell you what Rippling will cost, how it will run in your country or how support behaves when payroll goes wrong.
- No list price exists on Rippling’s pricing page3, and G2’s estimate was hidden and based on 13 purchases1.
- Fit outside North America is thinly evidenced. G2’s region filter shows 57 ANZ reviews and 374 European reviews against 10,690 North American ones1. Local payroll and compliance quality needs local evidence.
- The headline rating blends every product. A module with few reviews borrows the rating of payroll and time tracking.
- Users outnumber administrators among tagged G2 reviewers by almost five to one (computed from 7,391 and 1,521)1, so the administrator’s experience is the minority view.
- Both platforms show invited reviews1,2. Neither page reports how much of the total came through invitations.
- Rippling’s pages show a 4.9 Capterra rating3. The Capterra listing we requested returned “Page not found”, so that figure could not be checked. The G2 badge of 4.83 matches G2’s own page1.
Use one real payroll cycle to test the claim: your headcount, your countries, your benefits and one correction. Glamdring’s published research covers other enterprise software on the same evidence standard.
Frequently asked questions
Is Rippling trustworthy?
The review evidence supports a product most reviewers are satisfied with. G2 shows 4.8 from 13,469 reviews1 and Trustpilot 4.5 from 2,4692, checked 28 September 2026. Trustpilot reports that Rippling replied to 97% of negative reviews and typically replies within one week2. Neither aggregate establishes payroll accuracy for a specific business.
How much does Rippling cost a month?
Rippling doesn’t publish a monthly price. Its pricing page says most products bill per employee per month, some add a monthly base fee, and every product requires the core Rippling Platform3. The figure comes from a custom quote based on headcount and the products chosen.
Is Rippling good to work for?
Glassdoor rates Rippling 3.7 out of 5 as an employer from 1,276 reviews, with 67% of reviewers saying they would recommend it to a friend5. Glassdoor places that in line with the 3.8 average for information technology employers5. Employees rate work-life balance at 3.1 and career opportunities at 3.95.
What big companies use Rippling?
Rippling’s own pages feature case studies from Chess.com, Barry’s, Y Combinator, Kleiner Perkins and Blank Street Coffee3, plus Clay and CookUnity4. G2 lists Clipboard Health and Anduril Industries as featured companies1. These are company-published customer names, chosen by Rippling for presentation.
Can Rippling’s own review badges be checked?
Partly. The 4.8 G2 badge on Rippling’s pricing page3 matches G2’s review page on the same day1. The 4.9 Capterra, Software Advice and GetApp badges3 were not confirmed, because the Capterra listing we requested returned “Page not found” and the other two sites were not captured.
