Essentials at $0 per user covers cards, bill pay and reimbursements. Pay Premium's $12 per user only for more than two entities, several expense policies or VAT documentation. Get the FX markup, billing term and user definition in writing.
Brex’s pricing page, checked 28 September 2026, lists Essentials at $0 per user per month, Premium at $12 per user per month and Enterprise at custom pricing.1 Ten users cost $0 a month on Essentials and $120 a month on Premium, or $1,440 a year. The page publishes no transaction fee amounts. Beyond the seat prices, its fee statement is one line: “Some Brex products have associated fees.”1
TL;DR

How these prices were checked
Every plan price here comes from Brex’s own pricing page at brex.com/pricing, captured on 28 September 2026.1 The field is the price printed under each plan name: “$0 user/month” for Essentials and “$12 user/month” for Premium.1 The page shows a dollar sign. It states no currency code, no tax treatment and no billing term.
The 10-user figures multiply the listed per-user price by 10, then by 12 for a year. They assume every user is billed every month at the listed rate.
Fee figures that the pricing page doesn’t show come from Expenditure’s reading of Brex’s pages on 16 September 2026, and they are labelled that way wherever they appear.2 Expenditure sells expense software that competes with Brex. What does each Brex plan cost per user?
Brex lists Essentials at $0 per user per month, Premium at $12 per user per month and Enterprise at custom pricing, checked 28 September 2026.1 A fourth product, Smart Card, is a procurement card with custom pricing.1 Only the two lower plans carry a public number. A buyer can price Essentials and Premium from the page and needs a sales quote for anything above them.

Brex’s footer summarises the same structure: “Plans start at $0 per user, per month, and more advanced features are available for $12 per user, per month.”1 The sign-up paths differ by plan. Essentials offers “Try Brex for free”, Premium offers “Open an account”, and Enterprise and Smart Card both route to “Contact sales”.1
Smart Card sits beside the three plans as a procurement product. Brex lists global cards accepted worldwide, local-currency cards in 50+ countries, and merchant card controls with custom approvals.1 Its price is set in the same sales conversation as Enterprise.
What does Premium add over Essentials?
Premium adds policy, approval and entity controls on top of everything in Essentials.1 Essentials already covers the core spend workflow, including card acceptance, AI-powered custom rules, up to two entities, accounting integrations, bill pay and reimbursements.1 The upgrade matters when a company outgrows two entities or needs more than one expense policy.

Premium also adds AI-powered compliance audit detection and insights, on top of the AI-powered custom rules Essentials already carries.1 Enterprise then adds fully customizable implementation services.1 Read down the table and the plan boundary follows complexity. A company within two entities and one expense policy fits Essentials, and each extra entity or policy layer moves it up a plan.
What do 10 users cost on Brex?
Ten users cost $0 a month on Essentials and $120 a month on Premium, which comes to $1,440 a year at Brex’s listed price, checked 28 September 2026.1 Enterprise has no public figure. The 10-user cost there is whatever Brex quotes.
The arithmetic is 10 users at $12, then 12 months at $120. Two gaps on the pricing page can move that result. The page shows “$12 user/month” without saying whether Premium is billed monthly or annually.1 So $1,440 is twelve monthly charges, and it may differ from a quoted annual contract. The page also leaves “user” undefined. If Brex bills a narrower group than everyone with access, the bill falls. Confirm the definition in the order form.
For a team that spends in foreign currencies, the seat price can be the smaller number. Expenditure reports that Brex states an FX rate markup of up to 3% when a card purchase needs conversion into another currency.2 At the full 3%, $4,000 a month of converted card spend costs $120 in markup. The same $120 pays for 10 Premium seats for a month. Expenditure’s own example puts $10,000 a month of spending in euros at up to $300 a month in markup.2 A team that buys heavily in foreign currencies should get Brex’s exact FX rate before it compares seat prices.
Which fees does Brex list?
Brex’s pricing page lists plan prices and no transaction fee amounts, as checked on 28 September 2026.1 Its general fee language is one footer sentence: “Some Brex products have associated fees.”1 The page marks travel booking as free on Essentials and prices Enterprise and Smart Card as “Custom pricing”.1
The page’s footnotes cover Treasury returns. They post a “total treasury return” between 3.53% and 3.87%, which Brex describes as an annualized compounded figure.1 The return is income on invested cash, and it moves daily with the fund yield and the balance tier.1
Brex’s fee terms sit on other pages. Expenditure read them on 16 September 2026 and reported these lines:

All five lines come from Expenditure’s 16 September 2026 comparison.2 Expenditure attributes the billing and overage terms to a Brex support article on the cost of its services.2 These lines rest on Expenditure’s reading. Confirm each one in Brex’s current agreement before signing.
When does Premium earn its $12 per user?
Glamdring Research’s verdict: Premium earns its $12 per user when a company needs more than two entities, more than one expense policy or VAT documentation, because Essentials lists none of those.1 A company inside those limits gets cards, bill pay, reimbursements and accounting integrations at $0.1 For that company, Premium buys workflow refinement: dynamic review chains, compliance audit detection and live budgets.1
Test the claim on one real month of spend. Count the legal entities that need cards. List the expense policies the finance team enforces by hand today. Count the approvals that happen in email or chat instead of in the system. If the answers are two entities or fewer, one policy and no VAT paperwork, Essentials holds.
The decision changes when a manual step has a cost the team can name. A second policy for contractors, a third entity for a new country, or a controller rebuilding budgets in a spreadsheet each month all point to Premium. At 10 users, the upgrade costs $1,440 a year at the listed price.1 Set that against the hours the manual step consumes.

What the pricing page cannot tell you
The pricing page fixes the plan structure and the two public seat prices. It leaves six cost questions open:
- Billing term: the page shows “$12 user/month” with no annual or monthly qualifier.1
- Who counts as a user: the page gives no definition.
- Currency and tax: prices carry a dollar sign with no currency code and no tax statement.
- Enterprise and Smart Card prices: both read “Custom pricing”.1
- Transaction fees: the page says some products have associated fees and names none.1
- Credit approval: the page states that all loans are subject to approval, including underwriting, credit and collateral approval, and it publishes no threshold.1
Three events would change this reading. Brex could change the Premium seat price. It could publish a fee schedule on the pricing page. Or it could move multi-entity support or multiple expense policies between plans. Any of those resets the 10-user arithmetic and the Premium verdict.
