For companies of 300 or fewer employees, Navan's only published charge is Navan Expense: free for the first 5 monthly expensing users, then $15 per user per month. Navan Travel carries no platform fee.
Navan Travel carries no platform fee on the Navan Business plan, which covers companies up to 300 employees. Navan Expense is free for the first 5 monthly expensing users, then $15 per user per month. Companies above 300 employees go to Navan Enterprise, which has no published price and runs on a quote.1 Those are Navan’s published pricing terms from its pricing page, checked 28 September 2026.
For most small and mid-sized companies, the Expense seat count is the whole published bill.

What are Navan’s plans and prices?
Navan publishes two plans: a free Navan Business plan for companies up to 300 employees, and a quote-only Navan Enterprise plan for large organisations.1 We file Navan under spend management. The table sets out each plan as the pricing page shows it on the checked date.

The page gives no currency code. The captured page is the version Navan’s region menu labels United States, and separate pricing pages exist for the United Kingdom, France and Germany.1 This article covers the United States page only.
What does Navan Travel charge?
Navan Travel charges no platform fee on the Business plan. The page’s headline reads “Navan Travel is free*” with “no platform fees”, and the plan price shows as “Free”.1
The free plan includes these travel features, as listed:1
- global travel inventory and exclusive rates
- unlimited policy and approval workflows
- self-serve changes and 24/7 travel support agents
- Navan Rewards
- customisable reports
- 30+ HRIS integrations
Trip volume doesn’t change the price. Navan’s own FAQ says that as long as a company has 300 or fewer employees, there’s no limit to how many trips it can book with Navan Travel.1 Travellers can book flights, hotels, car rentals and trains.1
The asterisk matters. The captured page shows it on the word “free” but doesn’t include the note it points to. “No platform fees” is also a narrower statement than “no fees”. The page doesn’t say whether per-booking or change fees apply. Confirm both in the current quote.
What are the Navan Expense terms?
Navan Expense is free for the first 5 monthly expensing users, and then is $15 per user per month.1 That’s the only per-seat figure on the page.
The unit is the active expense user, not the employee. Navan defines one as “anyone who submits a transaction into Navan expense by manual transaction or Navan Connect”.1 So a company with 200 staff pays for the people who submit transactions in a given month, not for all 200.
The Expense features on the Business plan are:1
- managing expenses and issuing reimbursements
- connecting existing corporate or business credit cards
- receipt scanning
- integrations with most ERPs
What does Expense cost at different team sizes?
The table applies the published rate to sample monthly user counts. It assumes the first five users stay free after the count passes five, which is the plain reading of “free for the first 5”. The annual figure assumes the same count every month.

The page doesn’t settle one point. If Navan bills every user once a company passes five, the 25-user month costs $375, not $300. The difference is a flat $75 a month at any count above five. What is quote-only?
Everything above 300 employees is quote-only. The FAQ tells those companies to “request a demo to learn more”, and the Enterprise column shows “Let’s talk” and a “Get a price quote” button in place of a price.1

The page describes the gap between the plans two ways. Its FAQ says both plans “have all the travel and expense features companies love”, and that Enterprise adds support features for implementing and scaling.1 The plan column, though, lists “the full suite” of Travel and Expense as an Enterprise addition. The full feature list sits behind a link the capture doesn’t include. Treat the feature boundary between the two plans as unconfirmed until the quote itemises it.
The product menu also lists Navan Edge, Payments and Navan Events.1 None of them carries a price on the pricing page.
How does Navan fund free travel?
Supplier commissions fund it, Navan says. The FAQ reads: “Navan is powered by travel providers’ commission fees”, “so you get access to a huge inventory without any cost to you.”1
That’s Navan’s own account of how it earns, and it sets the economics. Travel providers pay Navan commission; the company buying travel pays for Expense seats. The page doesn’t publish commission rates or say whether they affect the fares a traveller sees. The practical test is to price one real itinerary in Navan and through your current booking channel on the same day.
What the pricing page does not publish
Several terms that change the real cost aren’t on the page:
- Tax. No statement on whether sales tax, VAT or GST applies to the $15 charge.
- Currency. No currency code. This article didn’t check the regional pricing pages.
- The asterisk. “Free*” appears without the note it refers to.
- Enterprise pricing. No figure, no floor and no unit.
- Other products. No prices for Payments, Navan Edge or Navan Events.
- Contract terms. No billing frequency, minimum term or cancellation terms.
The page also carried a promotional offer of $500 for personal travel when a company joins Navan.1 Its conditions sit behind a link the capture doesn’t include.
