Vanta doesn’t publish a price for any plan. Its pricing page, checked 28 September 2026, names four plans (Essentials, Plus, Professional and Enterprise), prints no dollar figure against any of them and asks buyers to request a demo to “get personalized pricing”.1 What Vanta does publish is the plan structure. Each plan adds features to the one below it, and the only quantities on the plan cards are a framework count, a yearly questionnaire allowance and a report count.

TL;DR

  • No list price exists. Every Vanta plan is priced after a demo, so the figure you pay comes out of a sales conversation.1
  • Three plans stack; one is bespoke. Plus contains everything in Essentials, Professional contains everything in Plus, and Enterprise is described as a “fully customizable package”.1
  • The published quantities are the quote variables. Essentials names one compliance framework. Plus includes 25 AI-powered questionnaires a year. Professional raises that to 144 and adds six customisable reports.1
  • Some features sit outside every plan. Vanta’s comparison table marks security reviews and every Customer Commitments feature as an add-on.1
  • Budget from a written quote, not a third-party range. The quote should name the frameworks, the headcount basis, the questionnaire allowance, each add-on and the contract term.

Does Vanta publish a price?

No. The pricing page opens with “Find your plan” and tells visitors to “Request a free demo today to discuss your business needs and get personalized pricing.”1 Its buttons read “Get personalized pricing”, and none of the four plan cards carries a dollar figure, a per-employee rate or a billing period.1

Vendr, a software procurement marketplace, reads the page the same way from the buyer’s side. It says Vanta “does not publish fixed-price tiers in the traditional sense” and that “most buyers receive custom quotes based on their specific compliance needs and company size.”2

The consequence for a buyer is practical. Until a quote arrives, Vanta can only be compared on inclusions, and the inclusions are what the rest of this page sets out. Vanta sits within our compliance automation coverage.

What plans does Vanta list?

Vanta lists four plans. Three are cumulative tiers and the fourth is a custom package.

What does each Vanta plan include?

Each Vanta plan card lists its inclusions: Essentials sets the base, Plus and Professional list only what they add, and Enterprise is a custom package.1

Essentials covers “One compliance framework with agentic policy generator”, automated evidence collection “for audit readiness”, and “Basic reporting and audit workflows, code change, and continuous controls monitoring”.1 It also includes the Vanta AI Agent (agentic search across policies, controls, frameworks, tests and documents, evidence checks, a policy template library, policy control mapping, evidence collection and SLA tracking with remediation), an Auditor API, a Trust Center and “Access to expert partners for additional compliance services”.1

Plus takes everything in Essentials and adds automated policy onboarding, “AI-powered Questionnaire Automation (25 questionnaires per year)” and Access Management.1

Professional takes everything in Plus and adds eight lines: questionnaire automation at 144 questionnaires a year, “Risk management with customization, dashboard, and reporting”, an Advanced Trust Center, “Custom monitoring tests and automation”, automated access management, “Advanced reporting (six customizable reports)”, advanced control management and “Additional Vanta AI Agent features like agentic issue management”.1

Enterprise carries one line: “Fully customizable package with advanced GRC needs”.1 The card doesn’t say whether Enterprise starts from Professional, so its contents are whatever the contract states.

What changes between Vanta’s plans?

Four things change between Vanta’s plans: questionnaire volume, automation of access and risk work, reporting depth and the Trust Center.1

Questionnaire volume is the clearest step. Plus includes 25 AI-powered questionnaires a year and Professional includes 144, which is 5.76 times the Plus allowance.1 A company that answers a few security questionnaires a quarter fits inside the Plus allowance. A company fielding three or more a week passes 144 a year, which puts it beyond Professional’s allowance before any other feature matters.

Access and risk work gain automation. Plus lists Access Management; Professional lists automated access management, risk management with a dashboard and reporting, and custom monitoring tests.1 Reporting moves from “Basic reporting” on Essentials to six customisable reports on Professional, and the Trust Center becomes an Advanced Trust Center.1

Framework count is the variable the cards leave open. Essentials names one framework, while Plus and Professional state no framework number at all.1 The same page links to 18 named frameworks, from SOC 2 and ISO 27001 to Essential Eight, CPS 234 and FedRAMP, plus custom frameworks.1 A buyer who needs a second framework should expect that to change the quote, and should confirm how in writing.

Which Vanta features are sold as add-ons?

Two groups carry an “Add-on” mark in every plan cell of their rows in Vanta’s feature comparison: security reviews, and all five Customer Commitments features.1 The Customer Commitments rows are AI-powered commitment extraction, tracking and account linking; native contract storage integrations with Ironclad, Salesforce, Sharepoint, Google Drive and an API; transforming legal prose into structured data; gap analysis against standard commitments; and a searchable, filterable inventory.1

Vendr’s reading of Vanta’s commercial model points the same way. It lists vendor risk management, penetration testing and questionnaire automation among add-on modules that are “priced separately”.2 That is Vendr’s account, not a Vanta statement, so treat it as a question for the quote.

What sets the price of a Vanta quote?

Vanta itself says only that pricing follows “your business needs”.1 Vendr names three drivers: “the number of certifications (called “frameworks”), the number of employees at the company, and optional add-on services like penetration testing or vendor risk management.”2 It also reports that “Annual contracts are standard; multi-year commitments often unlock discounting”.2

Vendr says its analysis rests on “anonymized contract data”.2 Several pages ranking for “vanta pricing” publish dollar ranges drawn from buyer data or market research. None of those figures is a Vanta price, and none appears here, because each rests on contracts or research whose scope the reader can’t see. The drivers are the transferable part. On Vendr’s account, two companies on the same plan can pay different amounts if their headcount, framework count or add-ons differ.2

What should a Vanta quote state in writing?

A Vanta quote should state every variable the pricing page leaves open. Use one real workflow to test each line: last year’s security questionnaires, the frameworks your customers ask for and the audit you plan to book.

  • Plan name, and for Enterprise, the full list of inclusions.
  • Frameworks, named, with the cost of adding another. Only Essentials states a framework count.1
  • Headcount basis, since Vendr reports employee count as a price driver.2
  • Questionnaire allowance, checked against your actual yearly volume, and what happens past 25 or 144.1
  • Each add-on as its own line, including security reviews and Customer Commitments if you need them.1
  • Contract term and renewal terms, because Vendr reports annual contracts as standard.2
  • The audit itself. The plan cards list audit-readiness tools, an Auditor API and access to expert partners, and the site runs an auditor directory.1 No card says an audit fee is included, so confirm who pays the auditor.

What the pricing page cannot tell you

The page can’t tell you a price, and it can’t tell you how many frameworks Plus, Professional or Enterprise cover.1 Enterprise’s inclusions are unspecified beyond “advanced GRC needs”.1

The feature-comparison table also has limits. Its ticks and crosses render as images, so the inclusions on this page come from the plan cards, and add-ons are reported only where Vanta prints the word “Add-on”. Our research standard governs how this check was made. The same table carries a column labelled “Pro” beside “Professional”, although no plan card uses that name.1

This page reflects Vanta’s pricing page as checked 28 September 2026, and it will be rechecked when Vanta publishes a figure or renames a plan. New checks of compliance automation pricing go out in our email briefing.

Frequently asked questions

Does a Vanta plan include the SOC 2 audit fee?

Vanta’s pricing page doesn’t say so. The plans include audit-readiness tools such as automated evidence collection, audit workflows and an Auditor API, and the site links to an auditor directory to “Connect with top compliance auditors.”1 No plan card lists the audit itself or an audit fee, so ask for the auditor’s cost as a separate figure.

Is there a free Vanta plan?

No free plan appears on Vanta’s pricing page. The demo is free: the page invites visitors to “Request a free demo”.1 All four plans (Essentials, Plus, Professional and Enterprise) are priced by quote.1

Does Vanta charge per user?

Vanta doesn’t publish a pricing unit. Vendr reports that the number of employees is one of three price drivers, alongside frameworks and add-ons.2 Ask the quote to state whether headcount bands apply and what happens when headcount crosses one mid-contract.

Who competes with Vanta?

Vendr’s Vanta guide compares it with “alternatives like Drata, Secureframe, and Thoropass”.2 Our comparison of Laika and Vanta sets those two side by side.
